Ingredients:


• 2 cups short grain rice

• 4 ounces of thinly sliced ​​beef

• 1 large onion sliced

​​2 tbsp vegetable oil

• 2 tbsp sugar 


• 4 tbsp soy sauce 


• 2 tbsp mirin

1 tsp dashi powder (or 1 cup dashi stock) 


• Egg 2 (Optional) 


Instructions: 


1. Cook the rice: Wash and cook the rice in a rice cooker or stove according to package directions. When the rice is cooked, dissolve it. 


2. Fry the onions: Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the onions until soft and translucent. 








3. Bake beef: Put beef in a frying pan and bake until both sides are browned. 


4. Add seasonings: Add sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and dashi powder to a pan and mix. If you use dashi stock, put it in the pot instead of the dashi stock. 


5. Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer mixture for 5-7 minutes or until liquid is reduced and thickened. 


6. Serve the donburi: Place the rice in a large bowl and place the beef on top. If desired, crack the egg over the top and cook until the white is firm and the yolk is still runny. Serve hot.
