Kakigōri

Shaved ice is a popular Japanese sweet that is perfect for hot summer days. A type of shaved ice, it is commonly served with a variety of sweet toppings such as condensed milk, syrup, and fresh fruit. In this recipe blog, I will show you how to make shaved ice at home.


Kakigori



Material:


• 4 cups of ice cubes


• 1/4 cup water


  1/4 cup granulated sugar


• 1 tablespoon lemon juice


• Toppings of your choice such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrup or fresh fruit



Procedure:


1. Put water, sugar and lemon juice in a small pan and mix. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves.


2. Remove sugar syrup from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.


3. Place the ice cubes in a blender or food processor and blend until the ice is finely chopped.


4. Spoon the shaved ice into a serving bowl or glass.


5. Pour the sugar syrup over the shaved ice and divide it evenly.


6. Put your favorite toppings such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrup, fresh fruit.


7. Serve immediately and enjoy!








Tips:


• To make fruit syrup, combine 1 cup chopped fruit, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is soft and the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before straining the syrup.


• Freeze for at least 1 hour before blending with ice for extra fluffiness.
