あんみつ / Anmitsu

Anmitsu is a popular Japanese dessert consisting of small cubes of agar jelly, fruit, and sweet red bean paste, all served in a bowl of sweet syrup.

material:


  2 cups of water


  2 teaspoons of agar powder


  1/2 cup sugar


  1 cup chilled fruit (sliced ​​peaches, strawberries, melons, etc.)


  1/2 cup red bean paste (red bean paste)


  1 scoop of vanilla ice cream


   Sweet syrups such as simple syrups and flavored syrups (optional)



Instructions:


1. Put water and powdered agar in a medium pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.


2. Reduce heat and continue heating mixture for 2-3 minutes or until agar is completely dissolved.


3. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and let it cool completely.




4. Once the mixture has set, use a knife or cookie cutter to cut it into small cubes. Chill the cubes in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.


5. Arrange chilled agar, fruit, red bean paste, and ice cream in a bowl. Drizzle sweet syrup over the top, if desired.


6. Serve the anmitsu immediately and garnish with additional fruit or syrup if desired.
