Torikatsu Recipe: A Delicious Japanese Fried Chicken Dish
Torikatsu is a popular Japanese dish made by breading and deep-frying a chicken cutlet. Crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, and a unique flavor that will whet your appetite. material:


• 4 boneless chicken breasts


• 1 cup all-purpose flour


• 2 beaten eggs


• 2 cups bread crumbs


• Vegetable oil for frying


• Salt and pepper to taste


 Tonkatsu sauce (optional)


• Rice or shredded cabbage (optional)



procedure:


1. Cut the chicken breast into thin slices. Place cutlets between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound with meat mallet or rolling pin until even thickness.


2. Set up the breading station by placing the flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow plates. Season the flour and bread crumbs with salt and pepper.


3. Sprinkle the chicken cutlet with flour first and shake off the excess flour. Next, dip both sides in beaten egg. Finally, sprinkle bread crumbs and press lightly to adhere. Repeat with remaining chicken cutlets.



4. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. The oil is ready when the crumbs in the oil sizzle and turn golden brown within 15 seconds.


5. Fry the chicken cutlets, 2-3 at a time, in hot oil until golden brown and crisp, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat with remaining chicken cutlets.


6. Serve chicken cutlet with rice or shredded cabbage and serve with tonkatsu sauce. The sauce can be poured over chicken or eaten as a dip.
