Namagashi are traditional Japanese sweets that are often served with tea. Various ingredients such as fruits, nuts, and seeds are added to the bean paste. In this recipe, we will introduce how to make the classic namagashi "Kuzumochi", which is made by Sweetening kudzu flour with sugar.


Namagashi



Materials:


1/4 cup arrowroot powder


• 1 cup of water


• 1/4 cup sugar


• 1/4 cup red bean paste (red bean paste)


1/4 cup chopped chestnuts



Instructions:


1. Put arrowroot powder and water in a medium pot and mix. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.


2. Add sugar to the pan and stir until dissolved.


3. Remove the pan from the heat, add the red bean paste and chopped chestnuts and mix .


4. Place the mixture into a greased 8 x 8 inch square pan and smooth the top with a spatula.




5. Cool the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.


6. Once set, remove the namagashi from the pan and cut into small squares.
